Plant Bio :
Gasteria 'Aurora' is a stunning hybrid which forms a dense rosette of fleshy green leaves with finely serrated edges. They are closely related to Aloes and like them are natives of South Africa. They are relatively slow growing and although a succulent prefer mostly indirect light making them a very versitile house plant.
Positioning
Position your Gasteria 'Aurora' in a spot with very good light but avoid letting the intense midday sun shine directly onto the leaves as this will result in the leaves becoming yellowed dimishing the attractive but subtle contrast between the different shades of green on the leaf.
Watering
Water your Gasteria 'Aurora' when the growing medium has completely dried out. Avoid getting large drops of water on the plant itself and never water into the rosette. If it is not possible to gain easy access to the growing medium under, rather than over, water. Standing the plant in water over night until it has drawn up enough for the surface of the growing medium to feel damp.
Plant Habits
Gasteria 'Aurora' are a relatively slow growing plant which will get wider as well as taller over time. When they flower these are red and tubular in shape and were thought to resemble a stomach in shape which is how the genus Gasteria got its name (Gaster meaning stomach in Greek). These are more uncommon when grown indoors but in ideal conditions will appear.
Toxicity
Gasteria 'Aurora' is none toxic and pet and human safe
