Aporocactus x mallisonii flowering epiphytic trailing jungle cactus
It is hard to over state just how much we love this plant. It is an epiphytic jungle cactus which comes from dry forests in Southern Mexico where it can be found growing in an on trees. This makes for a very architectural trailing plant with long deep green stems studded with white spiney spots. The ridges have a slight suggestion of scarlet and, as the flower buds develop, you understand why. But nothing can quite prepare you for how stunning their flowers are. Bright Scarlet with deep throats which sparkle with white stamens. With all this drama you might suspect that this is a difficult plant to keep happy but not a bit of it. It does not require any special levels of humidity and likes to dry out between waterings. An absolutely stunning plant.
